School Council

Our school council plays a vital part in the school. The children meet, weekly, to discuss issues in school and to make suggestions for further action. The school council members meet with Miss Taylor to see what improvements can be made to our school.

For the Spring term, the school councillors will be discussing the following issues:

  • Ways to improve lunchtimes for children.
  • Raising money for playground equipment.
  • Safe and unsafe areas around the school.
  • Bullying in school.
  • Littering in school.
  • Improving lunchtime behaviour.

In addition to that, we have been invited to enter a competition called the ‘Speaker’s School Council Awards’ where we have to discuss a project that has been successful in school and made a difference. Every school that enters receives a web badge and certificate, and winners are invited to the Houses of Parliament for a prize giving ceremony in the Speaker’s State Apartments!!
