Year 1 Noticeboard

Welcome to the Year 1 Noticeboard! Please find information below and notices about everything that is happening in Year 1.

During the spring term, Year 1 will go on lots of exciting learning adventures as we explore new topics together. We will build on what we already know while discovering new and interesting ideas. This term, we will enjoy reading our new story The Lonely Beast, experimenting with different materials in science, learning about numbers up to 50 in maths, and having fun designing and making hand puppets in D.T.

Current Learning Focus

Our class Reading Book for Spring 1 is ‘The Lonely Beast’.

Reading

Daily reading plays a vital role in your child's development. Please support your child by encouraging them to read as part of their regular home routine. It is very important that all children read every day. This could be your child reading independently or reading with a friend/family member. If you would like some more ideas for books and stories, please find some ideas here. Students receive phonics books and a new library book weekly. You can keep us up to date on your child’s home reading in their reading record.
