The theme this term for our Creative Curriculum is ‘Building a Village’.

In Science, we will be continuing to learn about the human body and our vital organs. We will be looking at the aging process. We will be developing our scientific enquiry skills with several experiments related to heart rate. We will be able to use this data in our statistics unit in Maths.

In History we will be looking at the Romans, and how they impacted Britain. We will also be investigating how the Ancient Greeks influenced modern society. In Geography we will be investigating how natural resources are distributed around Europe and the World. We will continue to look at latitude and longitude, specifically hot and cold areas in relation to the equator and north and south poles. In RE we will be learning about Judaism and Islam.

In Maths we will be looking at measure and the conversion of metric units. We will be investigating the properties of shape and the use of co-ordinates, as well learning how to read and interpret statistics in tables and graphs.

In Literacy we will be looking at poetry, newspaper recount writing and non-chronological reports. Our core text this half term is ‘Odysseus’ which we will study in depth, and use in our work in History (as well as other cross curricular activities).
