Year 6: Coral Magenta

Welcome back to another exciting term in Year 6! We hope that everyone had a relaxing break and is ready for the Summer Term.

This term we will be working hard in preparation for SATs which will take place in the week beginning 9th May. Until then, Year 6 will have a strong focus on revision and ensuring that all pupils are well prepared for the challenges which lie ahead. We encourage you to continue supporting your child at home to ensure the greatest success in their tests. If you have any questions or concerns about the tests, please feel free to address these with a member of the Year 6 team.

Following the completion of SATs, Year 6 will return to their regular studies, undertaking projects in Science and IPC to explore the world around them and to indulge in the study of history and geography. We look forward to getting creative and sharing our learning. Keep an eye out on the school gallery page for updates on our fantastic work!

During this time we will also begin preparing for our end of year production, which this year will be “We Will Rock You”. Pupils are excited about participating in the production and we look forward to getting it underway. Each year the Year 6 production is a great success and we’re sure this year will be no exception.

We would like to thank parents for the continued support they have given so far and we ask you to keep supporting the team throughout our final term.

We love school!

What we are learning this Term.

Year 6 Celebration Day

This is our knowledge journey, presenting all the objectives that we are going to cover in the current unit for maths and literacy. Also, we have been reading the book Pig Heart Boy and created interactive displays inspired by the book and the main character. As some of the main themes in the story are xenotransplantations and animal rights, we completed research to find more information about heart transplants. Our posters show the knowledge that we developed about transplantation and animal rights.

Our first day on our residential was incredible fun! We have been wall climbing, completed the leap of faith and played team building exercises.

This afternoon, Year 6 spent time playing games and relaxing before their next activity.
