  Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

   

  The Friends and staff at Edward Pauling Primary School would like to raise as much money as we can for an amazing charity, Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan help people suffering with cancer and support not only patients but also their family members that are suffering too.

   

  We would like to invite you to our annual coffee afternoon on Friday 29th September which will run from 2.45pm until 3.20pm in the school hall. Coffee and tea will be available, along with cakes. This will be followed by a whole school cake sale outside after school where the remaining cakes will be sold.

   

  Every contribution, however small, helps and we hope we can do Macmillan Cancer Support proud. If you are able to help with the events on the afternoon of Friday 29th September then please contact Mrs Johnson at the school office.

  

• Beat the Street!

  Beat the Street

   

  Every pupil in our school has received a ‘Beat the Street’ pack today; a walking and cycling game linked to healthy living initiatives within the London Borough of Hounslow.

   

  ‘Beat the Street’ starts on the 20th September 2017 and runs until 8th November 2017. ‘Tap’ your card and your child can tap their fob on as many Beat Boxes as you can to earn points around the Hounslow Borough.

   

  Top school teams will win prizes. Register your card to join our school and help us move up the leader board. By registering you can also win prizes during the game! To register please visit the website, beatthestreet.me/Hounslow

   

  A confirmation email will be sent to the email address that you have entered and you need to click the link to confirm the registration. If you have already collected points, these will be added to the school total when you register.

• Author Visit!

  Author visit – Years 4 - 6

   

  Edward Pauling Primary School is thrilled to welcome a published children’s author Jonathan White to our school on Wednesday 27th September 2017. Jonathan is the author of a children’s fantasy adventure called ‘The Secret on the Second Shelf’.

   

  Jonathan’s visit will include a short film presentation that has been adapted from his book, an interactive quiz and book readings. This will be followed by a workshop with children in years 4-6 to help support their creative writing skills.

  Teacher Meet and Greet

   

  You are invited on Thursday 14th September 2017 from 3.30pm – 4.00pm to a ‘Meet and Greet’

  session.

   

  This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s new teacher and teaching assistant, as well as

  to gather information about the curriculum that your child will follow during the course of this

  academic year.

   

  Please go to your child’s classroom door at 3.30pm. If you have children in more than one class,

  please use the outside classroom doors to visit other rooms. We hope that this will be a chance

  for you to acquire valuable knowledge to enable you to support your child’s learning this year.
