Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Last week, the pupils who have jobs around the school at lunchtimes as part of the Meaningful Work Programme, had their termly treat. We celebrated their contribution to the life of the school with cake and crisps which was enjoyed by all!
As we do every term, two pupils, who have shown a particular dedication to carrying out their roles, were awarded the Employee of the Month Award. Congratulations to Kristopher and Teegan who also got to celebrate their achievement in our Friday celebration assembly.
Thank you to Mrs Osmond for organising the Meaningful Work Programme as well as the termly treat!

Our Y5 Social Enterprise team did brilliantly and really impressed the judges with their future business plan, for which they were given an award.
Congratulations to all involved!
Healthy Living Day - Spring 2023
This term, pupils across the school participated in Healthy Living Day.
All classes had a particular focus whether it be mental wellbeing, sleep or exercise. Pupils engaged in activities throughout the day, including creating their own couscous dish.
In addition, pupils participated in the 'Fun Run' which saw pupils run a mile in support of Red Nose Day.
Thank you to all the parents, carers and families for supporting our pupils whilst they ran the fun fun - some even in the rain!
We Love Healthy Living Day!
On Friday 24th March, we hosted a Quiz Night for parents, carers and staff members as one of the School Council's chosen fundraising events. Thank you to all those in the eight teams that participated - Hot Mums, Mummzies 3, Psycho Llamas, Take That Out of Your Mouth, Quizzy Rascals, Mrs Evans Made Us Come, The Clangers and 3 Putts for Bogey. Great fun was had by all with Mr Chambers acting as compere for the evening!
We would like to thank Mrs Evans for organising this event with the School Councillors and the School Councillors for setting one round of questions all about our school, some of which proved tricky for the teams to answer.
At the end of the evening, prizes were awarded as follows:
Team with the lowest score and winning hand made certificates from the School Council and a prize from the Treasure Chest - Hot Mums.
Team with the best/funniest name and winning some sweets - Psycho Llamas.
Team with the highest score and winning a bottle each - 3 Putts for Bogey.
We also got the chance to meet baby Eira, Miss Donnelly's and Mr Duffy's new addition.
As parents and carers will be aware from previous correspondence, the National Education Union's ballot among members has met the threshold for industrial action to be taken.
The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over teachers’ pay, recruitment and the funding crisis in schools, and not because of any issues at our school.
The NEU has posted a document for parents, carers and grandparents that explains their reasons for taking strike action. It can be found at https://neu.org.uk/media/24511/view
Industrial action is due to take place on:
1st February
2nd March
15th March
16th March
From information that the school has received, the school will be partially open on these dates, although parents and carers should be aware that this position may change.
At present, pupils in the following classes will be able to attend school on the dates above:
Reception - Blue Class
Year 2 - Scarlet Class
Year 3 - Indigo and Lilac Classes
Year 4 - Emerald Class
Year 5 - Amber and Saffron Classes
Year 6 - Crimson and Magenta Classes
We understand that this situation may be frustrating, and ask that all members of our school community continue to treat each other with respect and to be understanding. A national strike by teachers is very unusual. Taking strike action is not something that any teacher would take lightly. Those on strike will have thought long and hard about their decision.
If there are any changes to these arrangements, we will contact parents and carers as soon as possible and highlight this on the front page of the website (the scrolling banner).

Following the Christmas break, we have begun a new Story Time each Friday in the hall where parents and carers and their children can enjoy listening to a story read by some of our teachers!
In the first week, Mrs Evans read her favourite book, "Charlie Cook's Favourite Book" by Julia Donaldson, whilst today Miss Kallenbach read "Flat Stanley" by Jeff Brown. It has been lovely to see so many families joining us and we hope this will inspire you to consider visiting your local library to see what other stories you might find there to read together. Which is your favourite book?
We love reading!
